Breaking Bad is one of the most critically acclaimed TV series of the last decade and, honestly, the best TV series I've ever seen (and I could name a bunch of TV series that are also extraordinary such as The Wire, House of Cards, True Detective, Forbrydelsen, The West Wing, Pushing Daisies, Twin Peaks, Mad Men, Six Feet Under). Not only has it received numerous awards and nominations but it is subject to academic research and PhD. theses as well.

If you have already seen it, you know what I'm talking about. If you haven't, you should really think about doing it at some point in your life. The performance of Bryan Cranston along with the rest of the cast is absolutely brilliant.

I'm writing this post because I've just come across the parody Jimmy Fallon did of Breaking Bad, Joking Bad, and I loved it so I thought you had to see it. Here it is:

If you have already seen the series, you'll be amazed at the way they turned the most important aspects of the show into the concept of joke-dealing. You'll laugh yourselves into stitches.

Well, for Game of Thrones fans, Jimmy Fallon also has a parody: Game of Desks. Have fun!

One of the best ways to learn English. Plenty of TV series, subtitles,.... And if they are speaking too fast, you can play the videos at a slower speed. Isn't it amazing!

I've been checking the series they offer and I've come across one I didn't know: Better Off Ted. It turns out that it is a satirical comedy and pretty good it is. I've just watched the first 3 minutes of the pilot episode and I found it hilarious. They are trying to find a way to turn pumpkins into weapons (because there is a country with whom they do business that grows a great deal of pumpkins and would welcome additional uses for them... as well as cheaper ways to kill their enemies).

The critical reception of this TV series was very positive. It only lasted for two seasons, though.

How do you convert pdf to jpg

My world is a document
I can, put it in a disc on key
It's my key to the word
It's my key to the world

How do you convert pdf to jpg

Digital camera, picture my grief
What format should I use to fine joy
Loosing my image quality
What would I have done without the internet

On the other hand

     In addition

On one hand I count the reasons
I could stay with you
And hold you close to me
All night long
So many lover's games
I'd love to play with you
On that hand there's no reason
Why it's wrong
But on the other hand
There's a golden band
To remind me of someone
Who would not understand
On one hand I could stay
And be your lovin' man
But the reason I must go
Is on the other hand
In your arms I feel the passion
I thought had died
When I looked into your eyes
I found myself
And when I first kissed your lips
I felt so alive
I've got to hand it to you girl
You're somethin' else
But on the other hand
There's a golden band
To remind me of someone
Who would not understand
On one hand I could stay
And be your lovin' man
But the reason I must go
Is on the other hand
Yea the reason I must go
Is on the other hand

9/11/2014 Remembrance Day (100th anniversary of WWI)

9/11/2014 (25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin Wall)

WAR POETS: Wilfred Owen
Wilfred Owen
Bent double, like old beggars under sacks,
Knock-kneed, coughing like hags, we cursed through sludge,
Till on the haunting flares we turned our backs
And towards our distant rest began to trudge.
Men marched asleep. Many had lost their boots
But limped on, blood-shod. All went lame; all blind;
Drunk with fatigue; deaf even to the hoots
Of disappointed shells that dropped behind.

GAS! Gas! Quick, boys!-- An ecstasy of fumbling,
Fitting the clumsy helmets just in time;
But someone still was yelling out and stumbling
And floundering like a man in fire or lime.--
Dim, through the misty panes and thick green light
As under a green sea, I saw him drowning.

In all my dreams, before my helpless sight,
He plunges at me, guttering, choking, drowning.

If in some smothering dreams you too could pace
Behind the wagon that we flung him in,
And watch the white eyes writhing in his face,
His hanging face, like a devil's sick of sin;
If you could hear, at every jolt, the blood
Come gargling from the froth-corrupted lungs,
Obscene as cancer, bitter as the cud
Of vile, incurable sores on innocent tongues,--
My friend, you would not tell with such high zest
To children ardent for some desperate glory,
The old Lie: Dulce et decorum est
Pro patria mori.

Just in case you are bored stiff this Sunday afternoon;) BTW, this idiom reminds me of  HBO Bored To Death:noir-otic comedy (2009-2011).

All the shadows in the city
Used to love ya, what a pity
I miss the questions you used to ask me
All the shadows in the city
All the shadows in the city
Bored to death, plus expenses
The only trouble is my sentence
You said you'd never love another
Russian doll, one inside the other
Russian doll, one inside the other
Bored to death, cut, mad and lonely
Bored to death, cut, mad and lonely
Bored to death, cut, mad and lonely

Meglio Stasera (known in English as It Had Better Be Tonight) is a 1963 song with music by Henry Mancini, Italian lyrics by Franco Migliacci and English lyrics by Johnny Mercer. It was composed for the 1963 film The Pink Panther where it was performed by Fran Jeffries. In addition to the vocal performance, instrumental portions of the song appear in the film's underscore, sometimes as an introduction to the main "Pink Panther Theme".

The beginning of the song, in the original Italian, is here followed by a literal translation and the first two lines of the English version which contains an Italian expression, "Fa' subito!", which translates as "do it right away", but which does not appear in the Italian lyrics. However, all the versions carry the same underlying meaning of "Let's make love tonight, because who knows what will happen tomorrow."
